Hey guys, I currently own a garage apartment in Houston, TX with a studio upstairs and enclosed garage downstairs with door access that's currently just used for storage. I am considering converting the bare garage to a second studio but I have permitting concerns on the ceiling height. Floor to exposed ceiling is over 7 feet but floor to the bottom of the exposed beams is less than 7 ft. As long as I keep the ceiling exposed, should I have any concerns around the legality of the conversion?

Thanks
