We found a REO SFH in very good shape on the east side of St. Paul, made a bid, but we did not get the property. Presently, I'm kind of switching gears to focus on the Trustydocs venture. Just shoot me a message when you have time to meet.

If Mark Twain was still around, he would have a field day (or days, given the frequency).
Gentlemen,
Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm glad to be part of this community.
Hal - my wife and I started looking at REO SFHs for rental investments a few months ago. Before we found something, I was reminded of how much paperwork RE professionals shuffle. Being handier with computer code than plumbing tools, I created an online document storage service called Trustydocs.com. Then I discovered BiggerPockets and seeing it is good place to network and share knowledge, I joined.

Blogs themselves can be free (www.blogger.com). At its core, blogs are online diaries and sounding boards.
Just one quick comment on point no. 3:
Depending on the domain registration budget, it's sometimes advisable to register a slightly wrong name, e.g. www.JoeBuyHomes.com. Another example is www.yaho.com
Matt,
Looks like you got your site all set. Right?
I second the Wordpress option. The ROI on your time is better.
In Minnesota, the local RE Investors Association has ready-to-go sites for a monthly fee. Don't know how such sites (if available in your area) stack up against a Wordpress-based one.
