I started going to local real estate investor meetings.  There is usually investor friendly RE agents there.  I let them know what value I can give to them.  Its usually in the form of referrals, or coming to them to list after a rehab, but there is other ways to be creative.  If they understand the business, then they know the value a solid RE investor can have.  So far I've had no problems asking them to run comps.  Be upfront about what you want, and make sure you paint the picture that you dont want something for nothing.  Be bold, you got it.

What is the proper etiquette when a property is listed?  Is it ok to call the home owner instead of the real estate agent?  Does it matter either way?  How does one handle objections if the RE agent is in the ear of the owner when your price is lower than what the property is being marketed as?  It seems that if the RE agent is not educated on how investors operate, that going back and forth would be bad taste.  I'm operating out of Pittsburgh,PA and surrounding areas if that helps.   Thanks in advance for any and all insight.
