Thanks for the tip on the meetup, @Isaac Huerta!  I'll see if I can make it sometime. Maybe we should start up a BiggerPockets meetup with @Atif F Shahnawaz and Sujith from this other thread?  I was surprised that I couldn't find any Austin meetups when I looked in biggerpockets.com/events... What do y'all think?  :)

My husband and I have been listening to the BP podcast for a few weeks (which originally I discovered via the the Mad Fientist podcast, another great resource!). As we were watching some of @Brandon Turner's videos on YouTube this morning, we decided it was time to join the community!

We're in Austin, TX and currently have 1 SFH and 1 duplex (both in Austin). We're renting out the SFH and 1/2 of the duplex (living in the other half) - and are looking to expand our modest portfolio to 5 or 6 units to help us reach financial independence and allow us the freedom to travel and spend time with family in other parts of the world.

Really looking forward to learning more and meeting good folks here in the forums!
