Post: Starting(while also starting a family)

Recently married and currently expecting, my wife and I are looking for ways to build the financial independence we need to support our kid(s) outside of the usual 9-5. While this sounds like it will be harder while also starting our family, we have basically been looking into two different options with neither of us having ever purchased a house before. First, purchasing a house on the lower end of our price range for a live-in flip. Or, secondly, trying to find a multi-unit purchase to work with for the first couple of years and just sucking it up with the kids while they’re young. We are new to this setting and looking to learn while we build up our credit and funding. Any suggestions, what to do’s and what not to do’s welcome. Houston, TX
