@John Warren thank you. I never thought about it that way. I do think the easiest way to manage the unit after I move out is a traditional rental. I will keep those instances in mind.

@Oscar Cardenas I really appreciate that. Having some common area issues are something that I did not think of yet and yes I suppose having to share a kitchen would mean I would not be able to justify charging one room and a bathroom the same market rent as an actual 1br apartment. I am looking at the big picture still there will come a time I will move out and rent the whole place to a family or person. My next answer to find is what is easier to rent in the long term? Single family or multi family props.....

During my search of properties that I can house hack in, I'm wondering if there are any nuances I may not be aware of when it comes to hacking a single family home and renting the rooms. Say like a 3br 3ba townhouse vs an actual triplex? Anyone have any pros and cons between the two? I'm using the FHA 3.5% down option.

Hello everyone just introducing myself, A newbie investor from Maryland. Currently in Gaithersburg MD but I'm willing and able to move all over the state. My first mission is getting myself into a house hacking situation to help accelerate myself into other real estate endeavors. Any advice, criticisms, and encouragement is welcome!!
