Post: Resources for finding land contracts

Can't seem to find a forum category specific to buying/selling via land contracts, but I'm new to RE and this is a pretty basic question, so I guess it can belong here.

What resources do you use to keep up on what is selling? What resources (websites?, mls?, etc) have you found to be the most successful in giving accurate and up to date information? I basically am looking to learn how to find and research this type of deal.

Thanks.

@Gary Carver

Land contracts sounds interesting. I'll have to look into it. I'd imagine you can even do that entirely online.

Thanks!

@Aaron H.

This is going to be a very stupid question, but keep in mind I'm a total newbie.

Where can I find "local real estate meetups"? I've never really heard of such a thing.

@Aaron H.

Thanks for the reply Aaron. I figured there weren't too many options. And with no experience, I imagine wholesaling might be a bit out of reach for the time being.

Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll have to give it a look.

I think finding a business partner is a good option. I have time on my hands, and from what I understand that is seen as valuable to more experienced investors.

I'm 23, been working my first full time job out of college for 8 months. How can I use ~5k to break into real estate investment and start gaining some experience? I've been doing on-and-off research for about a year now, and I feel like I need to pull the trigger and just get started. Ideally, I'd have more money saved at this point, but that's life.

I'm not looking for super detailed explanations, but rather I'm trying to amass several methods with which you guys have been successful, so I can know what my options are.

I'm sure this exact post exists elsewhere in this forum, but I really wanted to break the ice and get involved with BP.
