I have recently acquired (December 15th) 6 rental units south of Houston Texas and purchased Rentec Software. I have the properties set up, tenants set up, general ledger charts set up, and everything seemed to be working great. Then I downloaded my data per the instructions and my CPA is completely baffled by the data. He has not worked with Rentec before and I really only have a hand full of weeks with it. With my lack of knowledge for tax preparation and his lack of knowledge of Rentec; we are at the point of starting over and manually entering the data into QuickBooks. I would then need to find out what I have done wrong so I can use Rentec for future data recording. Does anyone know of a Houston area Rentec expert that I can speak with?

Did you get any help with this. I am in the same situation. I have Rentec and it is set up the way I think it should be, but my CPA says he will have to start over and enter all of my data manually into QuickBooks. He is not familiar with Rentec and this is my first year with it so I have no experience with the conversion. I am in a bind with my accounting for taxes. I am looking for someone in the Houston Texas area if possible.
