Post: Spec home builder in East Bay CA

Hi everyone, looking for referrals to general contractors who work with spec home builders in the East Bay, even further out east or north (Richmond, Martinez, Concord, Antioch). A few of the GCs I've spoken with are hooked on tech wealth and ignorance of home building, so they prefer to help these startup employees build their "forever" home (ie charge $700 per square foot).

Yes Doug, it's taking some time, but still proceeding. Public hearing soon, then use permit, then hire/pay more consultants (soils, structural, etc), then apply for building permit.  Soft costs are high.

Hi all, just revisting this thread as I just started working with an architect on a new Berkeley CA build of two homes on a flat lot near 4th Street.  I'd love to chat with some of you who have recently built in the SF Bay Area, especially if you have either an excellent contractor to refer, or horror story you wouldn't wish on anyone else. Thanks!
