Nadya Ostroff Make sure you find an inspector who welcomes you to accompany them on the inspection and encourages questions. I learned so much about what to look for and the impacts of various issues in one inspection. It was well worth the money, and I was able to use the inspection report to get price concessions from the seller.

Hi @Christine Heartsill. I'm also new and have found myself in a bit of analysis paralysis. I'm headed to several REIAs and meetups over the next three weeks to break myself out of it. Thank you for the welcome. I am reading everything I can find and listening to podcasts. I feel like my brain is about to burst. Any advice on how to organize all this information into a coherent plan?

I've been a Project Manager in the Oil and Gas market for over a decade. I now realize that working for someone else will not get me where I want to go financially. I've just started the journey to transition into real estate investing.

The sum total of my real estate experience has been buying my first house over the last two months. It has been an eye opening experience with many wrong turns. I'm thrilled to have discovered BiggerPockets after almost falling for a guru pitch. The materials here have already taught me so much, and I am looking forward to networking with other local investors.
