In my perspective, it's just a bigger ask to put aggregate all this information into a third party that I don't know than I would feel comfortable with as a renter. For me it's a reputation thing. Stripe, Paypal, Venmo, Robinhood, etc all are household names and even then I do feel a little uneasy providing all that even for KYC purposes. For rental purposes I wouldn't continue through that process. I do see you have other use case examples which I think are better suited for this level of detail. Perhaps the account holder (landlord, agent, loan officer, etc) could tailor the level of detail to more appropriately match the level of background check required or be customized in some other way.

I know it's tough to establish legitimacy early on in a one-man shop and there's a certain amount of faking it until you make it that is to be expected. But there's no info on the website about who is behind product and how stable it is. I find the 'hundreds of open opportunities' heading on the careers page to be suspicious - if you have that kind of financial backing, you should highlight that and let people know this a legit project with a stable financial runway. Anyhow, it's better than I could put together and shows a lot of hard work and skill. Congratulations on your launch!

I understand entirely, and providing more options for the property manager to design the application process is a great suggestion. Additionally, I'll ensure that I add some of our partnered providers on the website to help in establishing credibility. Thank you for taking the time to review and providing the feedback!

The app look nice and looks very well done - this must have been challenging to implement and integrate everything smoothly. However, I don't think this level of information is going to be provided comfortably by applicants. I know that if I were looking to rent a place, I would not be taking face scans, linking bank accounts, sending photos of my driver's license, etc to anyone, let alone a random individual screening tenants.

I don't even like providing all that as part of employment background checks, and that's so they can start paying me.

It was undoubtedly a challenge to ensure everything operated seamlessly! I acknowledge your concerns about the ID and facial scan; we felt it was an excellent addition because the ID and facial scanning process takes just 30 seconds, but it offers substantial security to property owners by verifying the authenticity of the ID, confirming that the credentials match the applicant's information, and ensuring that no one is attempting to use someone else's ID. We considered this an impressive feature.

Regarding the bank account aspect, the applicant directly accesses the bank's page, separate from us, and selects which specific deposits they want to share with Validifi. The bank's page informs them that only their chosen information will be shared, which is beneficial for property owners when verifying that payroll deposits are present in the applicant's account. We employ a reliable provider with significant partnerships with Chase & other reputable institutions. If you have connected an external account to your Chase bank, you would have encountered the same financial user interface, ensuring security and trustworthiness. However, we do provide the option for individuals to skip the bank flow and proceed directly to the payroll flow if the property owner permits it in the property settings.

your price point is 2x other checking services...

Our per-user costs are initially higher, but we pay more for data until our volume is high enough to lower them. Our idea was that the instant results, free use to the property owner, & comprehensive verification from the identity and financial perspective would warrant the higher price point.

Hi everyone! (Not an attempt to sell anything :) I'd appreciate feedback & if you're a property owner/manager, its completely free to use!)

I'm Chris Gordon & I created a tenant verification software called ValidiFI.io & it allows property managers to instantly verify their potential tenants by extracting credit, background(ID + facial scan, criminal, eviction), employment, and income(direct payroll login + Bank acct. deposit verify) all processed within seconds at no cost to you. You put in your minimum acceptable criteria for the property: Min. income, credit score, criminal, eviction, and the software checks that the applicants meet them all & displays the attached report to you within a couple of minutes. I created it to verify the applicants but also to filter out the bunch that doesn't qualify to save you time + it's free to the owner to use because your applicant pays the $69.99 fee. It only requires name, email, and password to use it.

I'm 25 & It's been a long journey taking the leap to full-time entrepreneurship & creating a software company. After working a corporate job while buying real estate on the side, I knew that I wanted to create something that could solve a problem while generating income simultaneously. I self-managed my portfolio and dealt with all kinds of headaches with the verification software on the market from them not accurately verifying the job/financials to failing to fully verify the applicant's identity leading to an eviction of a fake CPN (used by Airbnb hosts to get apartments under a fake name). So I liquidated my portfolio and put everything into creating Validifi.io

Once again, I wanted to come here to explain the concept and get feedback from a real estate community on what I could improve and if you see it being useful. I'll be very active in the comments responding to feedback and criticism :) all is welcome!  If you've read this far, I appreciate you taking the time.

I’ve attached the sample report and a mobile speed demo from the applicant’s perspective. Let me know what you think:
