Thank you for the information Harold. I still have massive research and learning to do before I dive in. I have very limited real estate knowledge. I learn something new each day. I would like to continue communicating with you as well and one day collaborate professionally.

Thank you you Sue. I want exactly sure where to start. I contacted the apartment manager where my brother lived hoping they could point me in the right direction. I plan on checking with local housing authorities and different government agencies.
Yes James. Intellectually Disabled is covered as a social security benefit. I have a lot more research to do to figure out the best way to go about providing the housing. Thanks again!

Thank you so much everyone for the warm welcome and words of encouragement. Thomas, Rich Dad Poor dad was truly an eye opener. Brett, I agree. There's a wealth of information within Bigger Pockets. I'm thankful I found the site. Thank you Gary and Robin. I'm excited about my dream and eager to make it happen. I've organized a plan to achieve my goal. Everyday I take a step closer to it.

Thank you Terina. Sorry for your loss as well. I feel the same way about creating wealth through real estate for my family. It's time for a drastic change. Good luck to you too!

I will provide housing to Intellectually Disabled Adults in the near future. Does the government provide grants to landlords that house I.D. adults?
.................
Hello. My name is Wendy and I'm looking to acquire some real estate connections. I have no experience or training in real estate. I just began teaching myself the basics after reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad and watching a life changing Youtube video by Jay Morrison. One day I will provide housing to Intellectually Disabled Adults who want to live on their own. My brother, David, just passed away July 2, 2016 and was intellectually disabled but lived on his own in an apartment with other mentally handicapped adults across town. I was in the process of looking for an apartment similar to the one he lived in that was closer to me before he died but was unsuccessful. Freedom and independence were very important to him that's why he refused to let his disability prevent him from living on his own. That alone is my purpose for wanting to invest in real estate. To help others like my brother obtain their I independence.
Thanks for reading.

I do not own my own home and never have. I read rich dad poor dad and watched a YouTube video by Jay Morrison on buying a multi family home to get wealthy. Now I'm destined to invest in real estate to provide housing for intellectually disabled adults. My first home will be a multi family. Are there grants landlords can get for providing this type of housing?

Hello Everyone! My name is Wendy Hutchins and I reside in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I will change lives with real estate......
My brother recently passed away July 2, 2016. He was intellectually disabled and lived on his own in an apartment complex across town with other disabled adults. I wanted him closer to me but was unable to find suitable housing for him. I came across the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad shortly after his death and unlocked my purpose. I'm going to provide housing for intellectually disabled adults and veterans. Independence is an ingredient for confidence and my brother was full of it! He refused to let his disabilities hinder his life because he needed his independence to feel somewhat "normal". I will help others like my brother to live on their own.
