@Thomas Moran

Looks like a strong indication of foundation problems. If your numbers are good, it wouldn’t scare me at all. Happy bidding.

@Jennifer Jackson welcome to landlord-ing.

I would get the process started now as opposed to later. Send the 3 day notice and proof of service. I have properties in IL as well and proof of service is key there. I haven't dealt with eviction in Houston. Yet.  Get one leg up in the race. It could be a drawn out process if they decide not to leave. Hopefully they get the notice and begin clearing things out. Best wishes.

I'm leaning towards what Kevin said. If the homes don't have water, I think that is essential you provide water, even so you don't have control. I think prorating the rents until water is turned on is logical.

Hello everyone as the effects of Harvey are felt widespread I want to offer to any investors, homeowners, and people in need relief. I have been in Houston for over a year and have done one residential flip. I control rental property in my home state of Illinois. I also hold my real estate license in Texas and work in the construction industry. If anyone is looking for help, please, do not hesitate to contact me. I may be able to help you rebuild, relocate, or give you a new start.
