Just saw that one pop up.  That's pretty pricey for 2 1/1 units.  Do you think the 2 rents could even cover the mortgage?

I'm looking to buy a multi-unit property in San Antonio in the near future.  My wife and I will live in one of the units and we've been preapproved for $275000.  Any local land lords with advice or what to be aware of when we start our search?  Ideally I'd like to be around the 281 and 410, but Alamo Heights ISD seems to be pretty pricey.

I've been mulling over almost the exact same situation, except all within San Antonio.  Sitting on $50k in equity but wanting to move to a multi-unit to hopefully lower my monthly mortgage expense, allowing me to save me.  I'll definitely look into that Lori Vines is talking about.
