Ricardo,

Unfortunately, we only do cash or hard/private money loans.

Thanks for the help guys. It looks like, logistically, it might not be worth it. I also suggested they try Panama, as their rates are low, but they may run into issues there as well.

After some searching, I was not able to find an answer to this unique situation:

I have two friends (US Citizens) who work as missionaries in El Salvador, and currently own a house there. The US interest rates are much better than those of El Salvador, so they are looking to refinance with a US bank while they are home awaiting the birth of their second child.

- Thanks to the low cost of living in El Salvador, they have no problem meeting the payments (which they have for two years)

- One of their fathers is able to cosign (he has more than enough collateral, and is willing to help them with a 20% down payment, if necessary).

- They have credit scores of 750+

The problem is that they are not getting much love from the couple banks that they have looked at, and don't quite know how to handle it going forward. Any ideas/advice would be much appreciated!

I have three that I use:

- BoA AAA card that gives 5% cash back on gas (got that one back in 2005, so may not be available now)

- AMEX Delta Skymiles Platinum that gives one free domestic companion ticket each year, 1 mile/dollar for everything and bonuses for travel spending, and 10,000 MQM gift after you charge $25,000/year. Fee is $150, but the Gold card is $100, I believe. All of those cards start with 25,000 miles on them. I use this for my international travel.

- Chase Visa Southwest Rapid Rewards card--I use this for domestic travel--it comes with 25,000 points, I believe and I get 1 point/dollar for everything and bonuses for travel purchases. Most flights cost around 10,000 points for me, since I'm on the east coast. Fee on this one is $70-100...I forget which.

I average 4 free tickets per year (this year included free airfare to St. Lucia for our honeymoon via Delta), for a cost of $250 or so (I pay off my balances).
