Hi Ryan,

I'm focusing on Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates/Roselle as a farm area, in and around zip codes 60169 and 60193. Single family residences for rehab.

Thanks for the tip, I'll tool around in here and check out some signature lines....great idea.

Thanks

Paul

Hi all

Are you aware of any recommended bird dogs and wholesalers based in Chicago and the surrounding burbs? I plan on asking around at REI meetings but I won't be attending one until next week. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks for the welcome! Nice to meet you.

My background outside of RE - I'm a 36 year old new father, married for the first time a year ago. I worked as a chef in my early twenties and since then, accounting during the day and creative pursuits at night - first as a singer/songwriter, then in my thirties pursuing my degree as an English literature teacher.

When my daughter was born three months ago, I had to take a hard look at my goals and I realized that raising a family on two teachers' salaries (my wife is an established teacher) is going to be a hard road financially.
So the English teacher option was out - as fulfilling as it would be as a career, it won't pay the bills.

I've always had an interest in real estate. My dad was an investor (long retired) and I saw what it did for him. I bought a 2 flat off of him 8 years ago and lived in one unit and rented out the other. Although it was an "alligator" as far as investment purposes once I moved out, it was a great learning experience and gave me the itch to invest in RE myself.

So my motivation is making a better life and future for my growing family. I'm ready to work hard and smart and make it happen.

Hi everyone,

I happened across this site while doing Google searches for foreclosure listing services, and I'm glad I found it. I've been lurking for a few weeks and finally decided to join up.

I'm interested in doing rehabs in the northwest suburbs. I've located two properties that fit the criteria and I'm waiting to get my financing approved so I can make offers on them. Currently I'm reading everything I can get my hands on to try and find new ways to generate potential properties to rehab.

Glad to be here, look forward to learning more from all of your collective experiences.

Thanks,

Paul
