@Mark Fries I’m a new investor too. Have been looking at Jacksonville. What areas there do you invest in? From what I’ve heard it can vary block to block?

@Brandon L. Thanks Brandon for the welcome and links. Great articles! It’s hard not to chase the shiny objects and to stay laser focused on one investing strategy. For myself I want to master buy and hold SFH. I’m looking for a market to invest in as a start so then I can spend time researching and networking with others in that area. But i seem to be just lost searching markets on the forms. It seems like there are so many markets that will work, but choosing just one will be hard.

@Carson T. Thanks for the welcome! I guess I just assumed nothing local could be found that would hit the 1%rule. Really the only reason I am drawn to long distance investing was the cheaper markets and landlord friendlier states . So if the numbers worked in some markets locally I would definitely consider that. Sounds like I need to run numbers.

Hi my name is Zach Wilkinson. I am a 26 year old Cattle Rancher from Northern California, near Eureka CA. I am looking to use real estate invesing as my retirement someday by building a portfolio of single family, or small multi-family rental properties in cheaper markets. David Greene's strategy for long distance real estate investing is very interesting to me, and I would like to use strategies like his to build my own portfolio. My goal is to choose a market by next Friday, Dec 21. After that I will start building a team. I can't wait to start networking and learning from investors.
