Bonus step: Make sure you are placing money in your TSP as you can later pull a mortgage out of your TSP where you are paying yourself back with the interest (I never contributed to my TSP but I had many NCOs figure out this loop hole)

I have heard suggestions to pay a contractor a bonus for completing work early and penalizing for late work.

In 20yrs it will match market value tho.

Don't choose the market based on that, but it can be an added bonus.

There is lots of advice out there for paying student loans early but living as if you didn't get the raise or bonus I found most effective.
