It was a really good read, but there are some things that he does or recommends that I have questions about.He was investing decades ago, home prices were lower but so were worker wages.

But, if your contractors don't all carry workers comp and/or if you have employees, you may want to get it.- Umbrella Coverage:  This will often cover you when other types of liability are over-extended. 

You as a contractor should know there are many more factors involved than just labor and parts, such as the incredible amounts of insurance, overhead and taxes involved with running a business as well as you making a living off your workers actually doing the work.  

You may want to market your self to shift workers that would be off when you are available.You can also try for sale by owners and expired listings.  

Its tough to find deals good enough to do this with none of your own cash.
