We've had tenants use their individual garden bed the wrong way, such as planting a tree, planting a bush too large for the spot, planting corn, planting giant sunflowers, planting blackberries, planting a grape vine.... in the narrow 2 foot bed between the walkway and the builiding!

I always have knock down ceilings  in my rentals, look nice and they hide imperfections .Pop corn  ceilings here are a sign of a outdated, unit they must go !

But if you frame the question differently and ask if they'd rather have peas or corn with dinner, most will choose one or the other and you'll have a much easier time getting them to do what you wanted in the first place.With that being said, since they're just on a month-to-month agreement, I'd choose option #4 (though I personally wouldn't tell them the part about family needing to move in if that's not true).

There is tons of land around where I live but its mostly corn fields.
