Admittedly, I am not much of a blogger, and not an overly eloquent speaker, but am learning the importance of connecting with those outside of my circle of influence.

The tax savings and company match are both valuable and when you leave that company, you can roll it into a Self-directed 401k that can invest in RE.And, you can access retirement monies prior to 59.5  (IRA) or 55 (401k) but involves some lifestyle hacking best laid out by a blogger, The Mad Fientist. 

I'm a real estate blogger & make a good income, have okay credit but not high enough scores to get a loan to purchase. 

The market is so saturated with investors with deeper pockets than you, me or half of the Biggerpockets bloggers put together.
