Good info from the others I want expand on the online bidding part.You really should go into this knowing your MAO (max allowable offer) I cannot prove it but truly believe you are bidding against robots or employees of the auction site.

@Chris Levarek robots and computers were going to be taking jobs for generations. 

Both are easily verifiable and a robotic process can be written by a programmer to verify without human intervention.Again the wrong department with the wrong solution is be applied to wrong problem.  

People are always trying to save money but to be honest we will see robot doctors removing tumors before then end of the traditional real estate agent.

I think sometimes, you can't behave like an economic robot and you've just got to do what feels right, particularly when both the choices are good (just one is better).
