As an amateur I feel like they're good investments.

I know of at least six offices that have started offering property management and I need to educate other agents that there's a difference between what I do and what the amateurs do.

Places like Detroit, Chicago, and such, should be avoided by small-scale amateurs and dabblers who don’t live there and know the area (and the laws and courts) intimately.
