Just having vacant rooms in a rental house doesn’t qualify unless one of you is actually running a separate business from home and using that space solely for that purpose.Since your main activity here is renting out bedrooms (house hacking), those vacant rooms would typically just stay part of the “personal use” portion until they’re actually rented.
