Never has worked, never will.Giving a handout would be seen as much 'nicer and more humane' to someone in need rather than asking them to WORK and get PAID. 

On the other hand If I decide to GC the project myself I am debating back and forth as to use the same overall scope of work to hand out to the individual subs or create several specific SOW for the individual trades in order to bid the work.  

Likewise, the people who take the government handouts who do not want to work, they have no financial freedom. 

These people are so nice that they are still helping you even though most of your responses are just overglamorizing them or profusely thanking them because they didn't ask you any questions.The other problem is people who tell you how bad they feel for you because other people didn't light a scented candle for your two-line post and spend an hour of their own time trying to help you when you have a new profile, with new photo, and no information.You lucked out with some nice people in here Account Closed, but it's because of them that you have information not because you brought anything to the table other than a hand out.

Even with the government in our business, I love the control over this asset better than stocks or bonds and might have to hand out some toilet paper now!
