not every basketball player is Lebron James, and most basketball players aren't even in the NBA. i don't do STR personally - i have all LTRs, and am looking into MTR - but if you're only interested in it because you think the returns can be higher, then that may not be enough. 

I would use that first, if you're good doing a little leg work and then if you are hesitant, you can do a nationwide search through any of the major players in this space. 

Find who the players are, seeing if you can intern do any work for them.

I plan to attend to shake hands, meet the major players, and hopefully find someone I can do a deal with.

Additionally you want to work with someone ethical as there are many bad players in this kind of financing.
