Analyze a few deals each week and make real offers; momentum plus relationships is how your first check shows up.

That said, you can still do it on a cheaper property, but the tax savings might be more of a cherry on top instead of a decision maker. 

The fees can take a big chunk especially when vacant and rules which can change sometimes make renting difficult.

Most of the returns come later when the deal sells, not month-to-month like a direct rental.Also, keep in mind that with syndications you’re not the only decision-maker.
