They pay down the mortgage and allow me to live for free.For everyone that has not lived in their home for 10+ years (I can see you being fairly entrenched at that point), why wouldn't you consider doing this?

I think it gets much harder in that neighborhood the further entrenched you get to the old community.

Sorry for the long post and if it's not as professional as other posts but anyone willing to give me good advice I'm willing to hear I am a novice and want to be entrenched with this information 

They can’t possibly be shown a better way.They are entrenched with their "myside" bias; their way is the only right way.

But with disruption, there is always backlash, and there are always entrenched interests, and all sorts of rich and powerful folks who have something to lose if the status quo changes.

- Asian neighborhoods are entrenched.

As a fellow newbie entrenched in the REI learning stage right now, I appreciate these kinds of posts.

I know several people with long-entrenched family members living for free in a home that was paid for by other members, long gone or still alive.

Or that they won't be dealing with their entrenched, non paying tenant, or relative or the hoarder house in their life time.  

I did deed intel on the area and if I was not so well entrenched in Portland I would move there.Fast forward and 8 flips later and 9 new constructions going right now this is one of the best markets in the country.
