Jason, it is an alcove studio in Battery Park City (so a doorman building) and while there have been minor repairs (replacing broken appliances, spot repairs to the parquet floors), as far as I can tell the floor, bath and kitchen are all 80s originals beyond those small updates.  

Or is there always a battery component to it? 

Reach out to a KW office near you to ask if you can sit in on one of their IGNITE modules. 

In fact, their training module that does just that is actually called IGNITE.I have been with KW for over 20 years (in May it will be 21). 

They are all battery powered now, no wires!

They are small and run on batteries.

You buy it one time and then no more money unless you want to upgrade another new module on to it.

So he looks at it and tells me it’s not my alternator but my battery and he’s got this super awesome battery he can sell me for 300 bucks.  

You don't have to say you want to come over and check the air filter or the smoke detector batteries or whatever to keep an eye on the place.
