If the tenant for the house had kids, they may disturb the apartment tenant a bit since the apartment shares a bedroom wall with one of the upstairs rooms.I guess it's one of those things I can try out and see.

Some are wonderful tenants that pay their tenant portion on time, keep their units clean, do not disturb others and are just nice people who for whatever reason need help.On the other hand, we just had one section 8 tenant who moved in at the end of November, never made even one tenant portion payment and it took us ~4 months (end of March) to get rid of him.

I hope so, and that you have written your partnership up so that you are not liable for whatever he does as a tenant.If you have a lease with your partner, I would bet that there is a provision in your lease that says tenants must not violate any laws or cause disturbances, etc.
