The happiest people have large families, network of friends, and are involved in meaningful activities to them such as charities.

:@James WiseAll right, I'll bite.I had a young tenant who had recently gone through three jobs and was completely broke and living on the charity of his baby momma's mother pull up to where I was working on the house I rented the family.

Make a one-time donation to a military approved charity, donate blood, etc.  

Offer to let the local fire department use it for training purposes if they will agree to haul off the debri when finished, then donate the parcel to a local charity.

XXX dollars to charity, XXXX dollars to taxes, the logical decision is to redirect the money to your taxes and you end up farther ahead.You will come out much farther ahead by paying taxes than exhausting your charitable contributions. 

Outside of charity, why would I accept more risk for the same return?
