@Josh Cissell although I agree with you that this issue ins't petty (as mentioned in my post above) and it is the Landlord's responsibility to repair or schedule a repair... the guts are worn and the Tenant was using it normally so... no worries there and the Landlord should be finding a resolution/fix here.
