It's not about big houses, boats, planes, and cars, jewelry, fur coats, and trips around the world-- though I've had and done my share of all that-- it's about going to sleep at night knowing that if I don't wake up, my family has fond memories of me, that I was there for them while I could be, and that the last thing they have to worry about amid the trauma of losing a husband and father is money.

It makes it look as if it's done in purpose and gives a little foyer space to take off your shoes.If a wall has been taken down between rooms and the flooring has a gap right along that former wall, I do the same as above: Fill it in with marble tiles.If I have a very small bathroom where I need to redo the floor with tiles - I build a small false wall in front of the bathtub: furred out with 2"x4" sideways and plywood on top.

In the future I will be equipping all my rentals with wheel barrows so the tenants can load them up with hundred dollar bills or furs or liquor or whatever the medium of barter may be to pay their rent.
