It ended up being a good plan, I bought after the 2008 crash so my deal worked out well.Now I would not recommend all folks do it fact would say very few should do it.You need diversification in the stock market, with the rest buying real state in the right market.

I realize a bigger pockets about real estate and not the stock market but I like the diversification and wouldn’t consider cashing in or altering my portfolio.

Like all things investing (and perhaps in life) diversification is prudent and safeguards from pitfalls, so in my personal investing when the portfolio gets a little too heavy in old properties with high CapEx liabilities I look to sprinkle in some new properties with low CapEx liabilities.

What about applying the time-tested principe of diversification?

To others, diversification is the draw. 

This defense spending effect has dwindle partly due to diversification but still can exist in other industries, like tech or health care centers for example.

However, beyond your reserves you need diversification and that means don't put all your money in one bucket - like real estate investments or the stock market.

It's like being your own bank, making money off yourself, and diversification all in one.
