Many landlords believe they are saving money or preventing damage to their property, it hurts your reputation and your bottom line and does not prevent damage that is generally not inflicted anyway.

So many low-income people think of the security deposit as a tax that landlords inflict on them; they have no idea that there is interest due them, that they have to apprise the LL of their new address when they move, and that they are due an accounting of their deposit upon return.  

It's pretty bad when they beat you out of money and then the courts inflict more pain and aggravation.

Sometimes investors also get a real estate agent license because that gives them access to the MLS and lets them collect part of the commission on their purchases and sales.Having a tenant that doesn't pay for three months is a self inflicted wound.

It usually doesn't have a happy ending for those affected and/or inflicted by such.When the cards come tumbling down, the Pied Piper is often on to pumping the next big thing, while leaving a wake of stress and financial destruction behind.Long term, the Smokies are an EXCELLENT investment for most.  

I have also Jacked up the Rent in the next lease.. to inflict enough pain to make it worth my time dealing with them.

For one, this recession was really self-inflicted meaning that as soon as everything opens back up, hopefully after a vaccine, it should generally mean business as usual.

They do it by choice, totally self inflicted.

But if we think we deserve whatever we feel like deserving and our business should never ever cause us problems and treat people like chess pieces to get there, I feel we should think again at what we inflict on others sometimes.I don't care if you hate or love what I've said I would love to hear responses to this. 

If they choose to work and live where they can not afford the cost the problem is self inflicted and they have no grounds to complain.
