The "house contribution" goes to all communally used items such as trash bags, dish soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent, coffee, etc. 

Even the government only survives on the backs of producers and consumers.Joe this went back to my first response on the post it kind of reminded me of my early days selling real estate in Northern CA to folks that wanted to live an alternative lifestyle be it those with money .. or those without really much money and tended to live the communal lifestyle that was prevalent in N.

I want to build a 300 unit college dorm style building, with tiny rooms and communal bathrooms, as an affordable rental for millennials instead of moving back in with their parents. 

Upon landing at Plymouth Rock, they set up a government whereby everyone was given a particular job to perform, farming primarily, on the communal land, and the harvest was to be shared by all equally.

Everything else outside of these labeled shelves is communal.
