At least, hold onto your property in CA, so you can come back if you aren't happy in TN.Not only will the weather suck - really humid in summer, icy and cold in winter, but the culture is completely different.

It speaks so poorly of our culture that so many people balk at the idea of an open and honest discussion of money, investments and assets with even the person they're in a relationship with.So many posters have automatically assumed this will lead to an argument or a breakup.

If all of your tenants would be Spanish-speaking and you can't speak it fluently, or don't know the culture, I don't think you should buy it.The Mexican culture is tricky for non-Mexicans.

You wouldn't have a completely different culture to deal with, where there can be a very different way of dealing with landlords in their home country, which can require lots of patience while you teach them how things work in the U.S.Anyway, I think you would most likely be quite happy with the Canadian renters.
