I really think if you can get people to make big donations to your city council/local politicians then you will have a better chance of  accomplishing your goal. 

This is great because I can listen to city council and other local government committee meetings while I work. 

So, city council decided multi-units were "the enemy", and came up with a jazzy way to force them out. 

I just had a luncheon with the Women's Council of Realtors (Toledo Chapter) and the Mayor of Toledo and the amount of time and money that is going into the infrastructure of Toledo is outstanding!  

Minneapolis city council just put 10,000 uber drivers out of a job.Taxi industry is going to double their fees though I bet there.

Hell, in the first 80 years of this country we had a revolutionary war, a British invasion, and a Civil War. 80 years starting at the Civil War we had two massive economic meltdowns and 2 World Wars.

We started a Diversity council which I am a member.

My biggest thing is finding those people that do it respectfully so I can lean on them for council.

(I will say there does need to be taken into account that our city council & Alachua County in general have a bit of a reputation for overreach in government.

The resale in commercial is much more desirable for exit cap and a lot of metro councils are requiring that now for STR licensing
