means to me that someone thinks it's a big problem and and I'd guess it eventually results in the government taking action.My advice is to never lie or exaggerate or omit pertinent information on a federal form (FHA, VA, USDA loans, loan mod, Federal assistance for instance), and if someone isn't following the agreed to guidelines on a loan like that, to refinance using proper information.

I've definitely had applicants exaggerate their income when I pre-screen them so I use a screening system that allows you to verify income and employment status directly through an applicant's payroll provider - so not only are you verifying income, but things like start date/employment status/etc.
