@William W.Boom hit the nail on the head...technically a “pit bull” is not a recognized dog breed by the American kennel club...it’s a cross breed between a Staffordshire bull terrier and a larger dog and the issue is what you just said they have the lock jaw mechanism of the staffie with a personality of an unknown crossbreed plus the size.
