@Greg Scott A multifamily such as a duplex seem to be a better investment in Indiana than a single family home because it provides multiple income streams from one property.

I agree that it can be powerful when you want to take a stream of conscious thought and make it digestible for others, but on forums like these, where there is a high value put on personal relationships (even virtually), it does not come across as "working smarter".

In most places that setup is house hacking, not a separate ADU, unless the code allows a legal second dwelling with its own kitchen, parking, and zoning approval.
