Beams are starting to go upAfter the utility delays, framer availability issues and one of the crew members getting sick with COVID, I'm very excited to finally see some roof framing progress.    

I already have a framer on hand and a couple of GC that will be helping but the first thing is access + the current septic system will need to be addressed. however time and money as always. 

Before retiring my wife was a picture framer for many years; when people would come in they would ask to "speak to the guy who does the actual framing", to which she would reply "You're looking at him".

And I have the best framer in Oregon on my Canby project  2200 to 2700 sq ft home completely framed and ready for roof in 4 to 5 days . 

I also have side work framers and roofers that we call occasionally and we have a go-to local plumbing company and HVAC guy for emergency maintenance calls.

But it wasn't one single contractor it was ten or so trades (some labor rates were as follows...framers $3K, tree guys $4K, floor and tile $7K, Foundation $7K, roofers $5.6K, sheet rockers $5.5K, Electrician / plumbing $6K, millwork/paint/general carpentry $14.5K etc...)

Would I have to pay workers comp insurance on this person at the same rate that a framer or mason would need?

For example, an owner saying he is a framer or knows a cheaper framer, concrete guy, rough plumber ect. and then expecting the contractor to accept the work and continue on with tiling, flooring or drywall ect. the owner's subs, in this situation, will directly affect the contractor's work and most likely will bring them into a dispute if there are issues.

Same framer in Charleston was 15 bucks. our painter is 2 to 2.25 a foot in and out 3 colors and includes paint..
