I know some people over there that live close to Toledo and they say they like going in for the nightlife it provides as well as family restaurants and they like all the outdoor activities it provides. 

The biggest focus of the amenities will be the outdoor pool and property.

@David Doherty Des Moines has some pretty good outdoors opportunities nearby (giant whitetails primarily come to mind). 

Goal is “be able” to retire and live comfortably in Hawaii at 45, 35 now (10more yrs till military retirement).Own a commercial rental property.Passive income goal not necessary as military retirement should be more than enough, though extra $$$ can be donated to the missionary field.Work per diem to maintain anesthesia license (worked to hard for this to let it lapse).Spend maximal time with family and enjoy the great outdoors!

PS I just bought a rental home in Bountiful UT.

They don't need jobs and they actually see moving to Asheville as a downgrade/better deal then where they are moving from.Asheville has a really good art scene, excellent food options and plenty of outdoor activities.

.  :(    On the bright side, it's a great place to live if you like outdoor play, music and/or beer.  

:) Cant image how small the window is to play an outdoor sport on a court in LV.... 

Incredible beauty and access to lakes and outdoor lifestyle, great weather, tax breaks in SC, but nobody wants to pay $$$ to live next-door to a dump.
