We're not building more land and we haven't colonized Mars (yet) <enter Elon Musk>.

Many, including myself, came from a position where we were told people who are very well off were either lucky (lottery or "right place, right time") or extremely smart (like an Elon Musk). 

The people I am thinking of include Steve Jobs, Benjamin Franklin, Elon Musk, and others who have created a vision that people have been able follow has created significant wealth.
