A B&B style house might be OK though.There's also agricultural things you can use the land for like timber harvesting, growing fruits/vegetables and livestock grazing so even if a vacation rental wouldn't work it might be possible to rent the land for agricultural use. 

You will find some in the Marbach area as well, but the other areas should yield good fruit for you.

I did just that, in the meantime looking for some lower hanging fruit.  

These little perks can go a long way toward sealing the deal for any prospective guest who's on the fence and deciding between two vacation homes.Once you've booked those guests, don't forget to treat them with a little something special, such as a nice “welcoming” basket of goodies, along with a delightful gift basket delivered midway through their stay.

I have a STR that we converted to Mid Term (we still allow short term), but marketing it for mid term (monthly rentals) has been more fruitful for us vs SRT.
