New York State laws pose some particular challenges for landlords, but Albany and Rochester specifically are the 2 cities (outside of NYC) that I would say are #1 and #2 for being the most challenging based on their early adoption of "Good Cause Eviction", their building depts, and their general anti-landlord stance.

Although they are the dominant digital listing website, there are plenty of others and if representatives elect not to share their listing outside of a 'pocket' network - so be it, but don't argue that Zillow is being anti-trust...if anything I think Compass is..If there is such an advantage to keeping the transaction 'in house' why are they upset when the listing is kept off of certain websites?

Sure but that doesn't mean the policies don't exist, just because you haven't run into a scenario where those policies needed to be enforced.I'm all for piling on to Airbnb hate as much as anyone, but it just seems a little silly to use an anti-host policy that VRBO invented, and that VRBO is more strict with, to criticize Airbnb as anti-host.Anti-host cancelation penalties only exist because VRBO invented them, not Airbnb.

That's a good point... wish they would cap these gasoline price increases here lolAs far as rent control, I'm against rent control and generally vote against any local or state measures would be anti-landlord.
