Beside that basic fundamental fact,   also consider that the majority of tenants out there know that as long as you "rent" and don't own,  you can be uprooted at any time for no reason.  

You may be able to find the same or similar in another market with better growth fundamentals. 

Basic personal financial fundamentals always matter, even though I am a big fan of balancing that out with aggressive growth, sometimes one does have to stop, pause, reflect and be patient.  

.-  You should ensure that the market fundamentals support long-term buy-and-hold. 

The fundamentals of economy are still strong.. stronger than 2008.

Fundamentally, Russell is right.

Every investor should take a step back and ask if they understand fundamentals behind how they are investing, and then also determine which part of the market cycle the commodity is within.

That just seems like a fundamentally broken system.

Yet, things will not be as bad where fundamentals are reasonably okay, Real estate is one of them.
