If you weren't living there you could get a dwelling policy that only covers the building (since the contents wouldn't be yours.).I would go with an independent insurance agent, because they can shop a number of insurance companies for your best rate, whereas if you just went with a "State Farm" or "Geico" type company you will just get their one rate.

One thing I think you probably already know that most of these shops or call centers do is put their loan processors or Lo's on a very low comp plan.

And in a high occurrence of these situations, the property owners also reported they found that hopeium-regurgitating agent after having meet with other agents who did NOT say what they wanted to hear, had lent #'s less than they wanted to accept, a longer harder more critical conversation and hence they shopped until they found the one who would confirm what they wanted vs inform them of what is.

As with many here, I've been using a mix of Cozy (now Apartments.com), Stessa, and a few other custom workflows for turnovers that have worked well in the past, but with the takeover of Cozy by Apartments.com I'm now out shopping for better options for my primary, tenant-facing service.
