However, hydrojetting can work wonders on old cast iron pipes and its alot cheaper than new runs.If I am tackling a major remodel, and I have a chance to change out old cast iron vent stacks to PVC I do.

The real value comes from finding a house with a really outdated kitchen or a house with no kitchen at all and remodeling.(2) You never want to make your house too fancy so that it looks like it doesn't belong in the neighborhood.

However, I have found that by doing a 75% remodel before renting a unit out (updating all plumbing, electrical, roof, etc)and then finishing with new paint, flooring, counter tops, etc before the final sale.
