However, these are advanced techniques that are rarely as easy as they sound, and they all come with additional risks.

My personal technique is to tell them that we don't discriminate against ESAs, but we have to check with the insurance company because certain breeds are not covered and it would be an "unreasonable request" for the owner to change insurance providers.
